Horror films do nothing whatsoever for me..i rarely watch them. Real life is bad enough.

What did you think of The Lighthouse (2019)? (SPOILERS!)
by LoveUniHateExams inyeah, so my anticipation for this movie was very high a few months ago.
i didn't see it at the cinema, i was waiting for it on dvd.
i had heard that it was a horror film (my favourite genre) so my expectations were high.. when i finally saw it, i was a little disappointed, i gotta say.

how do spouse's treat their partners if they leave the cult?
by mickbobcat inso i was fortunate enough to have a wife that listened and saw what i was saying was true and that the cult is bs.
but i wonder how bad it is in a relationship that one goes out of the cult and the other stays in.
i can see that being a real issue for a marriage.

Hypocritical Stance of Jehovah`s Witnesses Over The Years.
by smiddy3 ini`m thinking of times when the jw organization has been hypocritical in their beliefs / practices .
they make sure they are no part of christendom in any way shape or form ,the understanding the r&f have of the organization.. the r&f members are not to have any dealings with christendoms religions in business or otherwise.. but what does the jw organization do ?
they sell watchtower property to christendoms churches for profit .. the r&f are to be separate from the world and call the league of nations and it`s successor the united nations the counterfeit kingdom of god ,the abhorrent thing standing in the place of god ?.

I think selling kingdom halls to other religions must be the biggest slap in the face for many dubs. Just think how many used to really strive to get their own hall..rather than renting places. The saving up..then repayments to cover the mortgage to the cult. Working on quick builds..ongoing maintenance and cleaning. Many dubs were really proud of their hall.
By selling to another religion it just really proves its all about money...with no consideration to the stumbling it causes.
Jehovah has left the building!

Conversation with my PIMI Dad concerning zoom meetings
by joey jojo inin a recent conversation with my dad, i asked how he was enjoying the zoom meetings.
he lives in a rural part of australia, virtually untouched by covid-19, in fact, the state he lives in has a limit on religious gatherings of 300, which could easily handle the average attendance of congregation meetings.
so i asked why don't they resume meetings as usual?.

It was the same with my father..he died in 2016 faithfull to HIS beliefs till his end.
But i believe he could see through all the hypocrisy and false teachings that came as the package deal.

Trying to forget
by Anne inok, right or wrong, i’ve attempted to ignore all jw related “stuff” in my life.
i fired my mom many years ago from babysitting for violating the no proselytizing to my kids rule.
shortened version of long story: i paid her for childcare (fair, going rate), super witness!

I sometimes think back to various jobs ive had...and work colleagues..how they got on in life. But i never do anything about it.
With the cult, most of those i knew all we had in common..the mutual interest..was the cult itself..not each other. The few friends i had back then turned their backs on me when i left..their choice, not mine.

We in the UK are dealing with COVID all wrong
by LoveUniHateExams inyeah, so boris johnson has plunged the whole of the uk back into a second lockdown.
kids are still going to school (thank goodness!
) but this second lockdown is ruining the economy and killing small businesses.. the first lockdown was forgivable because, at the time, nobody knew what we were dealing with.. but now, we know more and more about covid-19.. it is lethal to elderly people (the average age of deaths with covid in the uk is 82 years - the average age of deaths without covid in the uk is 81 years).. it is also lethal to obese people and people with diabetes.. i'd imagine hiv+ people are another vulnerable group.. but to everyone else, catching covid is fairly similar to catching the flu.

Here in the UK,. Of the 50,000 + covid deaths..the great majority were very elderly with underlying health problems, then the BAME ethnics, and the obese.
That number 50,000 is deaths from any reason where there was a positive test within the previous 28 days.
The median number of deaths over the last 20 years is about 600,000 a year.

The only person i know personally that tested positive was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties three and a half weeks ago.
She was discharged home today.
